Elbow pain – epicondylopathy and instabilities

The elbow consists of three partial joints with a common joint capsule. Strong ligaments control the elbow joint.

There are various causes of pain in the elbow. These occur, among other things, when stretching and gripping. Pain on the inside of the elbow or on the outside of the elbow could be due to an epicondylopathy (tennis or golfer’s elbow, formerly also called epicondylitis).

Often, discomfort on or in the elbow joint is caused by instabilities, for example as a result of a luxation (dislocation).
